    Fort Lauderdale 2017!

Photo credit: Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau

You asked for East Coast. You begged for Florida. We heard you and are really excited to announce that, next year, the Brats will be flying in from all over the world to meet up in sunny South Florida for a long weekend of fun, friends, and adventure!  Bring your bathing suit, shades, and sunny attitude because we're headed to Fort Lauderdale!

Situated on Florida's "Gold Coast" between Palm Beach and Miami, Fort Lauderdale is a popular tourist destination. From world-famous Blue Wave beaches to the natural wonders of the Everglades to the thriving arts scene and shopping venues, there is plenty to see and do. Over 300 miles of canals and inland waterways have earned it the nickname "Venice of America." In fact, it is home to over 100 marinas and 45,000 resident yachts!

    Some more quick facts:

    • Average year-round temperature of 75F degrees
    • 3000 hours of sunshine per year
    • More than 4,000 restaurants
    • 63 golf courses
    • 12 shopping malls
    • 16 museums
    • 132 nightclubs
    • 278 parkland campsites
    • Served by Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International (FLL) and Miami International (MIA) Airports.

Check back soon for details on the reunion committee, making your group hotel reservation, and registering to attend the reunion.

Mark your calendar (May 25-29, 2017), stock up on sunscreen and start planning your trip to join us for another epic Brat party!  We can't wait!!!

We have another vintage Aramco cookbook, Refined Cooking, available for download.  This one was compiled by the Ras Tanura Women's Group and printed by Al-Mutawa Press in Dammam.  Publication date is unknown.

"Sharing of favorite recipes is a time-honored tradition among friends.  In a community with a cosmopolitan population such as ours, with many superb cooks and world travelers, the desire to exchange recipes is a natural one.  'Refined Cooking' reflects the cuisine of Ras Tanura.  No originality is claimed for any of these recipes.  The names that stand behind them vouch only for their excellence."

This particular cookbook contains a few photographs and maps rather than illustrations "to fulfill a demand for a useful gift 'made in Arabia'."

Shukran, Elaine Wood-Armstrong (RT '58), for sharing this with your entire Brat family!

Click on the cookbook cover to download your copy.
