ABI Board Vacancy - Webmaster Needed!

Have you ever wanted to serve the Brat community while having fun with fellow Brats? Do you have an understanding of website management?  Well, the ABI Board needs you for the open Website Director position.

The Website Director helps "to organize, manage, & strategically enhance our website, which is built upon the MemberLeap platform (https://www.memberleap.com/video_center.php). Responsibilities

  1. Work with the Publications Director to develop consistent ABI website standards for visual design by promoting uniform fonts, formatting, icons, images, layouts, & modularization, including maintenance of templates and image archives.
  2. Maintain cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility so the website is accessible to a wide variety of users, including novices with old browsers and low speed connections, on both desktop and mobile operating systems.

  3. Originate website content and work with other providers/contributors (ABI Board members, committees, & individual Brats) to keep information current.

  4. Update ABI’s mobile app content as needed.

  5. Manage ABI’s social media and cloud storage accounts.

  6. Using MemberLeap GUIs, create content (pages, events, registration forms, surveys, etc.), upload/embed images, & multimedia assets to ABIs website. Edit HTML source code where necessary to make web content easily legible, professional, and consistent across multiple browser/viewing platforms.

  7. Report bugs or non-optimal feature performance to MemberLeap help desk.

  8. Prioritize new feature requests and schedule their design & implementation.

  9. Manage links to other sites and ensure all links are current & functional.

  10. Develop and maintain a strategic plan for ABI’s Internet presence, based on Board priorities, policy directions, & goals.

  11. Maintain ABI e-mail accounts, while addressing Webmaster correspondence appropriately and timely.

  12. Evaluate website traffic statistics and provide periodic summaries/analyses to the ABI Board.

  13. Aid/train ABI committees and class representatives who want to publish their own pages via ABI’s website.

  14. Evangelize use of ABI’s website by soliciting content from Brats and ABI committees, as well as promoting traffic via social media.

  15. Serve as technical and billing contact for the website hosting company.

  16. Archive ABI website files regularly.

  17. Maintain a webmaster guidebook.

Qualifications

  1. Working knowledge of desktop productivity software is required.
  2. Demonstrated proficiency with HTML/webpage development (style sheets, templates, tables, frames, web forms, image maps, etc.).
  3. Working knowledge of basic page composition and design concepts.
  4. Familiarity with and access to graphics packages such as Canva, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  5. Familiarity with and access to file transfer packages such as Fetch.

Time Commitment & Compensation

This is a flexible, remote position requiring approximately 5-10 hours per month (highest during run-up to biennial ABI Reunion registration), as well as the ability to work independently. Travel expenses (room & air/ground transportation) relating to in-person coordination for or attendance at biennial ABI Reunion events are compensated.
