FAQs

Q: I was born in Saudi Arabia and need a certified copy of my birth certificate. How do I do this?
A: There are several different methods to gain a copy of your birth certificate.
  1. You may contact Zahra Talge with the ASC Medical Unit. Her contact number is 713-432-4230, or you can leave a message for her at 1-800-343-4272. Her e-mail address is zahra.talge@aramcoservices.com. Zahra will send you a form to fill out -- it's a pretty basic form asking for authorization to release medical records or "other"--in this case birth certificate. You will need to know your father's badge number. You can fax the form back to her. There appears to be a 35SR fee.
  2. Check out the Birth of US Citizen Abroad website.
Q: I attended one of the Aramco schools, but left before I graduated. Am I still a Brat?
A: Definitely! Although we identify Brats by the year they graduated (or would have graduated) from 9th grade, you're a Brat if you attended an Aramco school (or were simply a minor dependent who lived in one of the camps) for any length of time.

Q: I just discovered this site. What do I need to do to learn more about AramcoBrats, Inc. (ABI) and to start receiving ABI news and reunion info?
A: If you would like to receive ABI notifications and add your name to the Brat directory, all you need to do is register!  You'll find lots of useful information and searchable directories in our Member area.  There are 3 membership options:

        Member - free
        Supporting Member - $35/2 years
        Sustaining Member - $55/ 2 years

Contributions through paid membership fees and donations are used to cover all ABI's administrative costs, including web-hosting and software that makes this feature-rich site possible. They do not cover biennial reunion fees, but a paid membership level is required to register for a reunion.

Q: If I put my email address on the ABI website, am I going to get spammed?
A: The Terms of Use for the ABI website and the online directory make it very clear that ANY information on ABI's website may NOT be used for advertising or commercial purposes and may result in prosecution. We've seen a couple of instances where Brats have harvested email addresses from our site to advertise their company or product. Fortunately, in both cases, the person involved has apologized and not repeated the error when we contacted them.

That being said, spammers do attempt to harvest email addresses from web pages.  For this reason, we have moved content that might contain contact information to a secure member-only area of our site.  The pages in this area are only accessible by registered members of AramcoBrats, Inc.

Q: How do I locate a classmate?
A: If a BrAt has provided any contact information, you can find them with a member directory search. Caveat: Some contact information may be out-of-date. It is up to each member to update their contact information. Additionally, individual members can control what contact information appears in their directory listing.
