Pauls Valley — “Cheyenne” Shr-Lyn La-Vance Cruse-Sweat of Pauls Valley was born June 15, 1940 in Santa Cruz, California to Lester Kenneth and Sylvia Margaret (Cox) Cruse. She passed away May 17, 2010 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years.

In 1947 with her mother, father and sister, moved to Saudi Arabia where she lived for 10 years where she acquired her first horse, and Arabian named Nedji.

As man and wife she and Andrew C. Sweat were together for 33 years. “Cheyenne,” as she was widely known, worked at Indian Nation Signs and at Glo-Lite for a time and later at Steppin' Out where she work for many years. The Pauls Valley area has been her home since 1975.

Surviving family include: her sister, Trv-Lyn Cruse Crobae of Melbourne, Florida; her sons: Clyde Sweat and his wife Michel le of Pauls Valley, and David Fink of San Francisco, California; her cousin, Marjorie Hall of Oroville, California; 6 grandchildren: Waylon Sweat, A.D. (Andrew) Sweat, Jessica Sweat, Lacy Stamps, Amber Sweat and Samantha Sweat; and 3 great-grandchildren: Karleigh Packer, Kirsten Stamps and Haven Stamps.

A time for sharing is scheduled for friends and family from 5 p.m. to at least 6 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. Friends are invited to come during usual office hours to sign her Memorial Record.
