Even though I left with my parents when Dad retired in January, 1972 and knew there was no possibility of return, I just waved goodbye to Saudi as we departed on KLM and shed some tears.

We had a very exceptional upbringing and if you aren't aware of that, I feel sorry for you.
Whoever you are.

Hey, Simon, that person from 10 years ago might be an old Brat and is no longer with us. We are getting up there in age, now, you know!
I remember the day I left, and me thinks you were one of the people I my parents had to tear me away from as we boarded the airplane! It was horrible, traumatic and the worst day of my life! I was miserable here, like a fish out of water. Luckily, I found a few brats who lived in the area, but we did not socialize much.
In college, I found a group of misfits like myself, and managed to forge a couple of good friendships, but have since lost them. It was all before the internet and they don't think to use their maiden names on FB, if they are even on FB.
How the hell are you? I really wish you would come to a reunion, I miss the crap out of you. So do many others.......
THE Kat...........
